MammaKind: Help Mums & Babies through Covid-19

Aim

Help MammaKind baby bank provide essential supplies to vulnerable mums and babies in Greenwich and Lewisham during the Covid-19 crisis.

MammaKind Co-founders Jennifer & Kirsty are two very passionate women who, after becoming mothers, identified the need to launch a baby bank to support mothers experiencing poverty. 

MammaKind collects and distributes pre-loved and new donations of clothing, toiletries and equipment for newborn babies up to 2 years old, to local mothers facing financial hardship.

Because of the Coronavirus pandemic there are more mums than ever who are simply unable to afford or even access the most basic supplies - food, nappies, wipes - for their babies. We need your help now so we can support them with these items.

ALL of the funds we raise through this appeal will be used to buy vital supplies that will be distributed to those most in need via our trusted referral partners in Greenwich and Lewisham Boroughs: NHS Health Perinatal Professionals, MumsAid, Mindful Mums, Best Beginnings Midwives and Mutual Aid groups.

Any amount that you are able to give will make a real difference to mums in our community who are isolated and struggling right now.

How far will your donation go?

• £8 buys one pack of nappies, wipes and cream for one baby.
• £17 would feed that baby for a week.
• £30 is around a month’s worth of nappies, nappy bags, baby cream and wipes for one baby.
• £50 could provide food and essentials for one baby for a month.

The team:

MammaKind was co-founded by Jennifer Allen and Kirsty Lowe, who are passionate about supporting women and especially mothers who are experiencing poverty and are hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. 

MammaKind has a management team of five women comprising Jennifer Allen, Kirsty Lowe, Katie Allen-East, Hannah Perris and Kelly Fort. We are entirely volunteer-led with a team of over 15 volunteers.
