Timeless British knitwear, made to last. Help a small UK brand fund its next chapter and keep heritage mills working
Why I started Malloch's
I've spent the last decade and a half in menswear — co-founding DENT de MAN, growing brands such as Norwegian Rain and Blackhorse Lane Ateliers, writing about style for Ape to Gentleman, PORT, Oracle Time and STREETS. Fifteen years in, my fascination with garments and manufacturing led me to the realisation: the best knitwear in the world is made right here, in mills across Scotland and the British Isles that have been perfecting their craft for a hundred years or more — and almost nobody outside the industry knows it.
So I started Malloch's to fix that. Not another fast-fashion label chasing a trend cycle, but a British knitwear brand built the old-fashioned way: working directly with heritage UK factories, using techniques honed over generations, to make jumpers that are meant to last decades, not seasons.
Every piece we make — from our fine lambswool crew necks to our Shetland "Shaggy Dog" jumpers and our collaboration with John Smedley — comes from that same idea. Buy less, buy better, and buy something that gets more character with age instead of falling apart. We keep our production runs small and considered, so every garment gets the attention it deserves.
It's been working. We've been featured in Ape to Gentleman, Styleforum, Menswear Style, The Coolector, Outfitnarrative, and Heddels, and we've built a genuinely loyal following of people who care about where their clothes come from. Now I want to take that further — and I'd love the people who've supported Malloch's from the start to be part of what comes next.
Why I'm crowdfunding
I've built Malloch's carefully and without outside investment so far — every jumper funded the next. That's kept the brand honest, but it's also kept growth slower than I know it could be. This raise is about changing that: giving Malloch's the resources to grow properly this season, without taking on debt or handing over a stake in the brand before it's ready for that conversation.
I'd rather grow with the people who already believe in what we're doing — our customers, our followers, and anyone who cares about keeping British manufacturing alive — than go straight to a big investment round. If this campaign goes well, it also puts us in a much stronger position for that larger raise down the line, with real trading numbers behind us instead of just a pitch.
What your money will fund
We're raising £17,500. Here's exactly where it goes:
Every pledge — whether it's a thank-you tier or a founding investor package — goes straight into making the next chapter of Malloch's happen. Thank you for backing British craft.
Funding method
Keep what you raise – this project will receive all pledges made by 22nd October 2026 at 12:00pm
