Help me complete the recording & release of my album: 9 devotional songs for the Earth, body, womb and land, made to be listened to & sung

I’m nearly halfway through recording my first album as Mali Earth Flower, and I need your support to bring it into full fruition in the world.

This album is a deep devotional offering to the Earth, the womb, the body, the heart and the land.

It is nine original songs, some are ceremonial chants you can learn and sing around your own fires and circles. Some are of deep ceremony, sung with girls and their mothers. Some are prayers. Some are poetry. All of them are offerings from a very real and embodied place. 

And this album has already asked a lot of me.

Not long after beginning the recording process, I became chronically unwell and spent five months unable to continue in the way I had hoped. It was a difficult and unexpected pause on many levels.

I’m now stepping back into production, slowly bringing the songs to life again, and I am so keen to complete what I started.

But I need your support to do it.

I’m an independent artist working with an independent producer, and I want to keep this music genuinely independent. I don’t plan to release the album through Spotify or any platforms that are funding g*nocide and war. Instead, I’m choosing platforms such as Bandcamp, which supports artists, and allows you as the listener to download the actual song files so you truly own your copy of the album forever, instead of just renting access through a streaming subscription.

So when you contribute to this crowdfunder, your money isn’t disappearing into a huge machine. It helps pay real people, while also allowing me to retain ownership and creative independence.

Some of you already know these songs...

Some of you have sung them with me in circle, listened around fires, sung them together in ceremony, with your daughters, your sisters, and your friends. Some of you have sung them in ritual, on pilgrimage, in water and in the wilds. I believe these songs have and will continue to offer medicine to the people they resonate with.

I want these songs to be heard, but I also intend many of them to continue to be sung. Sung in your homes, around more fires, in your own circles and ceremonies. I want you to be able to learn them and make them part of your own relationship with the Earth and your own body.
