PAINTING FOR PALESTINE

Aim: Raising funds to support my friends Ahmad and Esraa in Gaza

• Hi, my name is Lindsay Alden, from Accrington. Pictured are my friends Ahmad and Esraa Almadhoun. Ahmad is a graphic artist, and Esraa a health professional. They are expecting their first baby. They were recently displaced to a camp in Jabalia, Gaza. I have been talking to them for over a year now, and I've been astounded at their unwavering calm admidst impossible pain, suffering  and horror. They have taught me a way to be. Still so thoughtful and caring in their darkest hour. Ahmad told me that suffering only deepens the soul. They only have words of love and hope. They have never spoken words of hate. We all know what is happening in Gaza, and may have contributed to charities. As the situation around food availability declines further, direct aid is a lifeline.
  Please if you are able, donate a small amount to ease their hardship. These are the most noble and dignified people I have ever met. I hope every day that they will be free of this nightmare. I look forward to the day we meet and share food. Please donate to help maintain their health, dignity and wellbeing.
  Donors will receive postcards of Ahmads featured artwork, and of a painting I'm making, inspired by our friendship.
