I am Makeda Moore, a London reggae singer recording my debut album with Roberto Sanchez in Spain, raising funds for recording and promotion.
I am Makeda Moore, a London-based reggae singer raised in a Rastafari family, where music has always been a way of life.
From my early days, I have been singing with my family at the Lion of Judah Assembly, giving praises through Rastafari music.
Over the years, I have worked as a backing vocalist with some of the most respected names in reggae, including the legendary UK reggae pioneers Cimarons, as well as other established Jamaican and British artists. I am also a member of Akabu Queens, one of the pioneering female reggae groups in the UK, and a member of Cimarons.
This journey has given me experience and a deep respect for roots music. Now I feel ready to share my own voice.
I am preparing to record my debut solo album with acclaimed producer Roberto Sanchez at A-Lone Ark Muzik Studio in Spain.
Roberto and I previously worked together during the recording of the Cimarons album "Harder Than The Rock", and I am excited to continue this creative collaboration.
This album will be a reflection of my journey, my influences, and my voice as an artist. It will bring together years of musical experience, roots, and inspiration into a body of work that I can finally call my own.
The album will also feature members of my family, with whom I have sung and performed for many years at the Lion of Judah Assembly. Having them be part of this project makes it even more special, bringing together the people and musical traditions that have shaped me since childhood.
