Who are we?
We are a youth and senior men’s & ladies football club at the heart of the community in Teignmouth. The club officially formed back in 1946 but there are records dating back to the early 1900s which give reason to believe the club was formed much earlier.
Our club consists of 9 youth teams which provide access to football for nearly 200 children, from the ages of 6 up to 16.
Our ladies team play in the Premier Division of the Devon Women’s Football League.
Our reserve senior men’s team play in Division One of The Devon and Exeter League.
Our first senior men’s team play in the South West Peninsula League Premier East Division.
Why are we crowdfunding?
During the weekend of 26th of January, Storm Eowyn left our facility at Coombe Valley unplayable for the rest of the season. The volume of rain which accompanied the storm caused a landslip which has left our facility in need of major works. This has resulted in all of our teams having to hire facilities away from Teignmouth so we can continue doing the thing we love … playing football. As a club that plays host to over 80 adult players and nearly 200 youth players, the town’s only football facility needs your support.
With no football, we are not currently able to generate any revenue to keep our club afloat which is why we are looking for your support today.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The funds we raise through this crowdfunder will allow us to continue the season by helping to pay with costs of running our community club, such as utility bills, pitch hire and paying for match officials. We would also love to raise enough to support the repairs to the pitch after Storm Eowyn left damage in its wake
Community impact
We are at the heart of our community, offering opportunities for adults and children in the town of Teignmouth to take part in football, the nations favourite sport. Without our home facilities, we are having to travel long distances to play our games and train which just isn’t financially viable.
How you can play your part
Here are some simple ways to help us reach our target and make this appeal successful.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we hope we will get.
3. Our offer. Whilst playing away out of Teignmouth for foreseeable future, we hope you can continue to support us. This can be done by purchasing a virtual match ticket to one of our games for next season, or by sponsoring one of our matches and match balls. There are also opportunities to advertise in our Matchday programme for a small donation. Check the rewards page for more details on what’s on offer.
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
