The Prize
Your chance to own a painting by Maggi Hambling! Enter now to win a unique painting entitled 'Fireworks above the sea', generously donated by the Suffolk artist (2025_oil on board_22 x 13cm_35x27cm framed). This is one of the paintings in her 'Fireworks' series.
The Cause
Our church gas boilers have failed, and spare parts are no longer made, so we are raising funds though our 'help heat our church' appeal to replace them with an eco-friendly heating system.
St Mary’s Church is Grade 1 at the heart of the town, just off Market Hill. It is open to the public every day and very well visited – not just for regular services but also by tourists. It is also an attractive venue for regular concerts. The recent Quinquennial highlights descriptions of the Church by Pevsner and Munroe Cautley, and last year a magnificent five-volume report on the interior furnishings was completed by our local Church Recording Group, to public acclaim.
How to Enter
Purchase tickets via this website. Each ticket costs £10, and gives you one entry to the draw (a small number of tickets will also be available as physical tickets in our Church Shop).
The prize draw will remain open until 2nd March 2026, with the winner being announced on 5th March 2026.
