To improve facilities to be able to make tennis and racquet sports more accessible by offering Walking Tennis and Pickleball
Madley Tennis Club was formed in 1920 and has a proud history of tennis in rural Herefordshire
Our courts tarmac courts are starting to break up and need resurfacing. This provides us with an opportunity to make some changes to improve the diversity and inclusivity of the club.
We have recently started offering Walking Tennis sessions for people with different mobility needs. This has been successful and shows that there is a demand for us to expand the offer but we would need additional equipment.
Pickle ball is rapidly growing across the country and is another opportunity for the club to adapt to meet community needs.
We have a new coach that is keen to develop junior tennis at the club and that too requires equipment
To help towards the resurfacing of two of our courts and to add line markings for pickleball courts.
To purchase the required equipment to offer Pickleball, Walking tennis and junior tennis to the wider community.
To make tennis in all it's forms more accessible to the local community. To try to promote racquet sports as an inclusive activity that welcomes everyone.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
