But the Nakba is not just a chapter in history; it is an ongoing reality.
From 2023 to 2026, Gaza has faced devastating military assaults. Over 52,000 Palestinians have been killed, entire neighbourhoods destroyed, and hospitals bombed. 85% of Gaza’s population—that’s more than 1.9 million people—have been forcibly displaced. The destruction mirrors the same systematic uprooting of Palestinians that began in 1948.
