As a charity, we're committed to supporting those most in need, but we need your help to continue our vital community activities.
Over the past 50 years, Macrobert has been integral to Forth Valley communities, providing a diverse programme of activity and events. We make the arts accessible by providing local people, from all backgrounds, with a variety of opportunities to engage and experience the arts.

The past 19 months have been tough for everyone, and the pandemic has left lasting effects throughout Forth Valley, but we want to be there for our communities and support them to rebuild.

We know that our projects change lives; we've seen first-hand how disadvantaged children grow in confidence through art, how those living with dementia engage with live performances and adults with additional support needs feel empowered through drama. Our work with local communities is at the heart of what we do and why we exist - no one should be left behind.
Back in 2018, Scott came along to a class at Macrobert aimed at creating opportunities for disadvantaged groups to access the arts. From a very young age, Scott had been interested in animation and animated films - they are his passion, so the chance to work with our Creative Artists was right up Scott's street. He said, "Macrobert taught me to be arty, it was great to show my ideas and artwork. One of my favourite things was meeting Jamie and we worked together on our film".
A couple of years ago Scott and his family took a trip to Connecticut and visited 'Blue Sky Studios' (Scott's favourite animation studio company) where he met the animators, creators and even spoke at a team meeting; Scott is so passionate about Macrobert that he told everyone at 'Blue Sky Studios' about the work he was doing back home and how he was creating his own characters and artwork.
Scott's mum Gail said, "Macrobert gave Scott a routine, it was such a great atmosphere and provided somewhere calm that he could work on his ideas, stories and characters". Now that we're starting to reopen and develop new community activity, Scott is really excited to share the drawings and stories he's created throughout the pandemic with our Creative Artists. He said, "I want to be an animator and design characters", and we can't wait to be part of his journey going forward.

We've played a huge part in people's lives and some of our participants have gone on to have amazing careers in their chosen creative fields. Without Macrobert, these opportunities might not have been so readily available and we need to continue nurturing and inspiring people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

We know that our communities will need help going forward and we're going to go where people need us the most. We'll take our exciting programme of activity and events into communities; we'll help bring people together, increase mental wellbeing and reduce social isolation through our creative workshops and events.

Our venue was closed for the majority of 2020/21 and our income from tickets sales over the past couple of years has been virtually non-existent - this is the money that normally goes towards funding our community projects to help those that are socially, economically or physically disadvantaged.
We need to reach as many people and communities as possible, empowering people like Scott to be creative and fulfil their dreams. Please support us by making a donation to ensure that our work can continue benefiting those that need us the most during this recovery period.
Every donation up to £250 will be matched by the National Emergencies Local Action Fund, so your gift will go even further to help those living in our local communities.
