I'm crowdfunding to grow Lyme Bay Ladies
Hello I'm Lisa and I founded Lyme Bay Ladies over 10 years ago to create a supportive, empowering space where local women could connect, share resources and lift each other up.
Over the years, our community has grown into something truly special and I'm so excited to share how you can be part of our next chapter as we work together to create lasting impact.
Why am I crowdfunding?
With your help, we can grow Lyme Bay Ladies into a stronger, more connected network that benefits our members and the local community.
The funds raised will allow us to;
Upgrade our website and business directory - Improve traffic and visibility for our members, ensuring more people find and connect with local female-led businesses.
Raise awareness of LBL events and workshops – Boost our social media presence to spotlight members and reach even more people.
Optimise Operations – Streamline our processes so we can focus on what matters: creating memorable social events, empowering business workshops, and promoting YOU.
Give Back Locally – We hope to support more local charities with free memberships, offer discounted or free workshop spaces for those with restricted incomes and increase our contribution to local Charity - The Survivor to Thriver Contribution Club.
Lyme Bay Ladies supports women throughout Dorset, Devon, and Somerset within the Lyme Bay area.

Our generous members have donated amazing rewards—perfect as a Christmas gift or a treat for yourself! Your pledge supports both our cause and local women in business.
🫶 Donate a £1 (or more)
A donation of just £1 brings us one step closer to our goal. If everyone connected to our free online community gave just £1, we'd already be more than halfway there!
📣 Spread the word
Help us reach our goal by sharing this campaign with friends, family, and colleagues. Every share brings us closer to making a real impact!
Where it all started
In 2012, I moved to the South West with my family. I had left behind my corporate career and friends, feeling burnt out, anxious, and as though I'd lost my sense of identity.
I knew I needed to start something new in the place I now called home. What I realised was that I was looking for real connection, a space where I could be genuinely myself, even on tough days. I wanted a place to meet like-minded individuals, to share stories, and to support each other in all aspects of life, not just business.
It turned out I wasn’t alone in feeling this way. Many women who had moved to the area were also looking for friendships. Some were changing careers, retraining, or hoping to start or grow a business. Many were managing it all on their own—juggling social media, marketing, finances, and everything else, all while raising families, caring for elderly relatives, dealing with health challenges, and often neglecting their own self-care. I wanted to create something that supported women holistically, not just in business.
So, I thought, why not create it myself? And that’s how Lyme Bay Ladies began. It started with a few of us meeting for coffee and soon expanded to include expert-led talks and workshops from within the group. From there, we launched a private Facebook group—a safe space for women to connect, share stories, support one another, and recommend local businesses.
Today, our group has grown to over 3,200 women. I’ve watched friendships blossom, seen members grow in confidence, and witnessed personal and professional transformations.
What it feels like to be a part of Lyme Bay Ladies
I work hard to ensure that the free Facebook Group is a friendly, safe space for women to connect. It is a place for positive recommendations, a platform for women to share their products & services but also to feel comfortable enough to reach out for help and support.
You will feel a sense of community just by being part of the online group but if you wish to be more involved, all our events are relaxed and welcoming. I ensure that all new members are looked after and feel they can be authentically themselves.
Why are the membership packages so cheap!?
It has been very important to me that the cost per individual is kept as low as possible. That everyone has the opportunity to join us without the cost being a deciding factor. These small contributions (starting at £1pm) contribute towards the costs of keeping the group going and the website working!
For me it has always been better to have many paying a little than a few paying a lot as this is more inclusive and the more members we have the richer the community, the bigger the audience for our members and the more we can offer back.
Members then have more choice as to how they wish to be involved as all our additional events and workshops are priced separately or in some cases are free.
See our membership options here (prices rising in 2025!).
Incredible rewards on offer from our generous community
I have been blown away by the generosity of the members of Lyme Bay Ladies. Asking for donations, reward and support does not come naturally to me, but I know the group is a safe space and designed exactly for this kind of thing!
We have an incredible range of rewards from an introduction to belly dancing to personal training sessions and special treats that would make the perfect Christmas gift 🎄
These rewards won't be around forever! So pick your favourite before it's too late.
Thank you to everyone involved so far
