Aim: We are raising much needed funds to support the development of ladies/girls, junior and disability cricket.

Our Organisation

Luton Town & Indians Cricket Club (LTICC) is a community based cricket club, providing cricket and social opportunities to the local community. We offer cricket to all ethnic backgrounds and from the very youngest right up to the highest level in the Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire cricket leagues.

The club, run by volunteers strives to encourage greater participation in cricket be it playing or socially. Guided by a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment our commitment is to minimise the financial barriers so that we attract people from a wide cross section of society, including a significant proportion from the less well-off and socially deprived communities.

LTICC serves as an important social hub for the local community and our facilities are used by a wide range of other voluntary and social groups which include Hockey, Bowls and Bridge Club’s as well as being a venue for family parties and gatherings.

We have a wide catchment area and have nearly 400 members. We field 13 teams from Men’s, Women and Junior teams. We also run the ECB All Stars and Dynamos programmes for 5–11-year-olds.

We are very proud of the development of our junior programme, running of disability cricket and the establishment of ladies cricket.

Our Project

Luton Town & Indians Cricket Club’s financial position has, along with many other community-based sports clubs, been severely impacted by COVID-19. We have identified 3 areas of focus at our club where help is needed. We have planned to invest in the development of our Junior Cricket, Girls & ladies cricket and disability cricket. We need to raise £20,000 to help in achieving our above goals. With your help we can achieve this and re-establish our plans for delivery in the forthcoming 2021 season.

Providing a lifeline during COVID-19

COVID-19 has left us with a major hole in our finances

The club prides itself on being financially self-sufficient, but the ongoing COVID-19 situation is having an impact on our income and we have lost a huge amount compared to a normal year.

We generate almost all our revenue through matches, the bar and social/fundraising events during the summer months. This income enables us to cover our costs for the whole year, but with these activities being severely curtailed, our income has dropped dramatically

The volunteer committee has done a brilliant job in reducing costs and applying for grants, but we are forecasting that the club stands to lose more than £20,000 this year without some significant fundraising, and who knows how long the pandemic will continue.

What will we use the money for?

All monies raised through this crowdfunding page will be used specifically towards the three projects we have identified as follows:

1) Development of junior cricket which will require the services of qualified coaches, purchase of training equipment and the services of a child welfare officer. Anticipated costs are £6000.00

2) Promotion of Ladies and Girls cricket to enable them to play competitive cricket. This will require additional facilities, purchase of training equipment and hiring specialist coaches. Anticipated costs are £6000.00

3) Development of disability cricket. This will require specialist coaches and purchase of training equipment. Anticipated costs are £6000.00

Any surplus money will therefore help us cover our annual ‘fixed’ running costs which primarily include maintenance of our ground and pavilion, and the associated machinery.

How can you help us?

As a volunteer-run club, we need to generate donations from members, friends, and the wider community to help us cover the shortfall.

You can obviously donate whatever you choose, and we would welcome support from families or businesses in the community who value what we do.

Your donation can also be made against one of the many rewards we are offering.

In addition to what you give Sports England will match 100% of our donations up to a maximum of £10,000 which will make a huge difference to our club finances. However, it's an all or nothing scheme so we need to raise £10k ourselves to reach our total target of £20,000.

Fortunately, there's a great community spirit in Luton and we are sure you will see this as one of those moments when we really need to pull together.

So we thank you in advance for your support - it will really help us to safeguard the club finances so that we can continue to maintain our great club.

Finally, a practical point ....

If you do donate in one of the above ways, please could you put a note in the comments box to clarify what/who your donation covers.

And if you're pledging a family donation, please pay for each member of your family separately, and use a different email address if you can - thank you.
