Win a Cord surfboard, a Finisterre wetsuit & more to raise essential funds for Centrepoint – supporting young people facing homelessness
Markie Lascelles is our shaper from home. A hard charger with board building in his DNA, he heads up the iconic Cord Surfboards crafting and test driving iconic shapes in the heart of the Badlands. (That's Markie doing just that in that photo above)
Based out of the iconic Wheal Kitty, his shaping bay is next door to the legends Surfers Against Sewage and opposite the HQ of our friends at Finisterre. It’s a real community.
As the mercury dips, it always gets us thinking about the notion of home and what it means for those facing the prospect of winter without somewhere safe and warm to go.
So we've gathered our friends together for our annual BED & BOARD PRIZE DRAW to raise essential funds for Centrepoint the charity that supports young people facing homelessness at this crucial time of year.

We're asking our brilliant LS/FF community to dig deep for good reason - we have some seriously incredible prizes to be won!
This year up for grabs is Markie's current favourite model Cord Surfboard - Ark channel-bottom, pin-tail twin fin PLUS the brand new Finisterre Shearwater wetsuit. There's also: boots from Blundstone, an epic YETI Cooler, packed full of Goodrays and Sharp's as well as speciality grade, organic coffee from our friends Exhale PLUS a Surfline subscription and essential reading from SurfGirl, Carve & Huck to set you up for the winter.
The Board: CORD ARK 6'6" Twin Fin channel-bottom pin-tail twin fin. A great all rounder, this is their best-selling model for good reason. It’s made for small waves through to overhead surf, rides barrels well and is designed for progressive surfing. Extra volume under the chest helps you get you into all the waves you need, then the twin fin setup on a four-channel pin tail maximises speed and turning ability to give this board a great feel surfing off the tail and through your turns.

Designed and extensively tested by shaper Markie Lascelles and Aussie hell man Noah Lane it’s proven its worth in waves of all shapes and sizes. Image: Mat Arney
"A beauty of a board, so dig deep for a good cause," says Markie. "It goes from slop to steep and has great speed and flow. The refined back end has lots of surface area on the water, offering good projection, plus channels give lift and speed through critical turns, acting like a trailer without the drag. "

"The Shearwater is a real evolution, incorporating the feedback we've had from our cold water community to make a better product," says Finisterre founder, RNLI crew member and all round legend Tom Kay // Image: James Bowden / Finisterre
The Wetsuit: FINISTERRE SHEARWATER. Drawing on 20 years of cold water surf adventures, Finisterre has just dropped their latest game-changing performance wetsuits, The Shearwater. Refined over years of rigorous field-testing in the world’s coldest seas and crafted with pioneering technology and hard wearing construction, to keep you warm, flexible and comfortable in the most testing conditions, the Shearwater is their most technically advanced wetsuit to date.

Irish charger Easkey Britton putting the Shearwater though its paces. We spent last winter testing this latest evolution in wetsuits from Finisterre and they are game changing. Super toasty, super stretchy, with a U-zip entry, as you'd expect from a B Corp of this calibre, these natural rubber wetsuits don't compromise of performance, people or planet.
It costs £10 for one entry, £20 for three, £30 for five entries - no limit on the number of entries per person. All monies received will be donated to Centrepoint the charity that helps young people who are facing homelessness.
The first prize and YETI cooler will be drawn on Sunday 8th November.
The winner of the Blundstone boots, Exhale coffee and essential reading will be drawn on Friday 13th November.
