The aim of this project is to ensure the financial survival of Loxwood Sports which is faced with massive electricity price increases.
Who are we?
Loxwood Sports Association is a not for profit organisation that is managed by its membership.
It is a Community Amateur Sports Club that aims to provide sports and recreational opportunities for all people in the local area and beyond.
These activities include football, cricket, squash, stoolball, snooker and darts. Individuals of all ages are welcome to participate; coaching support is provided for junior players, boys and girls.
What do we provide?
The Sports Association supports the running of:-
2 senior football teams, 4 Junior football teams; a senior cricket side plus 2 juniors; a stoolball XI and over 70 squash and snooker players
Central to our activities is our pavilion, which contains a bar and leisure area, changing and showering facilities, a squash court and snooker room. It is also available for private hire for social occasions such as group meetings, celebrations, training and as a base for events such as cycling.
In all, about 500 people routinely use some of our facilities either as participants or spectators.
We have a policy of keeping our fees and charges as low as possible to ensure that cost does not prevent anyone from participation. Our facilities and operations are run entirely by volunteers from the community. Any moneys raised are ploughed back into the association.
Why do we need your help?
The Sports Association is faced with a SIX FOLD increase in its electricity prices. Even if we are able to receive a small Government subsidy our financial structure cannot support this level of cost increase.
We need to find emergency funds to get us through the next year whilst we focus on a long term sustainable plan.
The moneys raised will ensure that the electricity charges that we are facing will not cause us to fall into debt with the very real risk that we may not be able to continue to operate in the long term.
Please lend your support to this appeal.
