General Maintenance of Lowerhouse Bowling Club

Who are we?

We are a community run crown green bowling club called Lowerhouse. 

Community impact

We are an ex-council maintained crown green bowling club, and over the years we wanted to take more pride in our green than what Burnley Council could offer, so decided with funding from the local council that we would maintain the green and its surrounding as a community group/team. 

This allowed the local community to have a lovely place to bowl, have a brew and biscuits or just a place to sit and enjoy the gorgeous surrounding.

But over the last few years Burnley Council has cut our £1500 a year funding, which only ever covered a small portion of the yearly maintenance costs.

This was then taken over by Burnley FC in the Community, and has now been cut completely - with us now having to cover costs through sponsorship which is very hard to come by due to the effects of COVID and financial hardship in our area.

Why are we crowdfunding?

How we’ll spend the money raised

All money raised will be used to keep our little bowling area looking gorgeous, so that the whole community can use it and enjoy a little space for themselves. With the odd brew and biscuit of course. 

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
