We have old floodlights which we want to replace by LED lights reducing electricity consumption by over 75% - key to keeping the lights on.

Kings Norton rugby club (with our junior section the rhinos) is an inclusive community club with over 200 active players from under 6 to adults. We run both female and male teams and are particularly proud of our girls under 18 tag rugby team who are the regional champions and unbeaten for over two years. Our facility is used by other sports teams including American Football, Rugby League and Ultimate Frisbee. We also allow use of the facility free for schools matches, run school tag rugby festivals and host the Community policing Teamworx project - supporting primary school children to build confidence through sport.
We have a real problem with our main floodlights which we use for our midweek junior and senior training sessions. These old style lamps currently cost £10 per hour to run and we are expecting this to increase significantly once our existing fixed term electricity contract expires. If this is the case we would need to review our training sessions and limit training times.
Our plan is to replace the floodlights with LED lights taking under 1/4 of the power of the existing lights, this being far more environmentally friendly and will ensure we can continue to afford to use the lights for all of our planned sessions.

By replacing our lights we will have a long term sustainable solution with a 10 year guarantee. This will enable us to continue offering other local clubs, teams and societies to use our pitches.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target and make this project a reality.
