With the extra £4,000 we can buy more equipment for the play area.
Do you Love Parks? The people of Valence love their park, and it needs some love! Local mum, Lisa Adams has already raised £75,000; another bid for £150,000 is at the final stage; all Valence Park needs is the final £6,000 raised by the community, to show how much this means to us!
If we can even reach 50% of the target, we hope that the local council will match our efforts.
WE NEED YOU!
Watch the 5 minute film about Lisa's journey
Broken basketball hoops, the dangling chains of broken swings, and bare concrete sits where once children laughed and spun on a roundabout. Yet still people of all ages play in Valence Park; a space that people call their own.
If we are successful in our fundraising we will have a new playground, surrounded by new electricity generating gym equipment – you can get a workout and charge your phone! – and a great new games area, with a basketball court, football goals, and several games walls where families can play together.
Local mum, Lisa has worked tirelessly for two years, she has sought support from Community Resources London Sport and Barking and Dagenham Council and she has talked to and worked with hundreds of local residents, young people and school children to make their hopes and vision come alive
The people of Valence have spoken and want an inspiring place where the whole family can play and exercise together. Mums, Dad, Grans and Grandads want an environment where they can play with their children, or exercise alongside them, not just sit, watch from afar.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, please look at how the park looks now and what we hope to achieve, and please if you have any suggestions, please do get in touch.
Please give what you can. Together we can make Valence Park the place we dream it might be.
