Two years ago, a large commercial light event was held in our local park - an event that was expensive and out of the reach of many local people. Our community asked if we could provide something affordable in response. We already did a yearly lantern parade, and work with two amazing light technicians. So we asked our lead artist and our tech guys if they could do something! Of course we could and so … #LoveTheReans was born!
In 2023 we cobbled together some interactive light displays, lanterns and Youth Club worked on their own Panto! In 2024 we went bigger and better and had some funding to make it all happen. We added a local crafters market, camp fire, letters to Santa and Youth Club Panto finale!
We are known for bringing magical arts events to the city. Last week we helped produce the first ever Fringe Arts Wolverhampton festival. But we've been so busy we forgot to find any funding for this year’s Lightwalk! Oh no!
We are determined to do the event, but there are some costs we just cant cover. Whilst we rely on volunteers to put these events on, there are still so many costs that we have to make sure are covered - boring stuff like insurance, utilities, security and all that stuff!
So we are asking if people can spare us a pound or two to help make it happen.
