Aim

We are a team of young student filmmakers aiming to fund our short film project, helping this new story come to life on screen.

In the not too distant future a lonely female mechanic creates the world’s first emotional robot to assist her in finding love.

We are a team of student filmmakers based in Cambridge, England.

The film is a 10-minute quirky Romantic Comedy set in the not too distant future where the growing population has squeezed out the classic family home for single bedroom flats.

Our protagonist Pam, aged 47, is more comfortable working with machinery than people, but everyone has that spark in them when love is involved.

After failing to get her feelings across several times to her local delivery man, Pam creates an emotional robot called Chip out of the dusty junk in her flat. She believes that Chip will coach her through the trials and errors of dating.

However, Pam is unprepared for the unpredictability of Chip’s emotions. In a VR simulated restaurant she realises that he isn’t fit to coach her through a ‘practice date’ after all.

Why do we need additional funds?

  • To enable us to pay the required travel expenses to our amazing actors who have agreed to work on this film project.
  • To secure the ideal locations for the film.
  • To aid us in getting all the required camera equipment safely to and from our filming location.
  • To help us obtain the right costume and props to give our film the care and detail this story deserves.
  • To provide food and beverages for our cast and crew to keep everyone motivated through the long shooting days.

All funds donated will go towards creating our short drama film.

The Filmmakers

George Turner, Director

Finding where to begin is hard as I did't really watch masses of films as a kid and growing up briefly in South Africa made my interests focus more on the outdoors.  Even when I did watch a DVD I was more focused on the behind the scenes section. However my love of stories and characters grew around my love for drama and the odd cave painting in the bush.

Being a filmmaker throws up constant problems that test you mentally, physically and emotionally. I think being the creative and resourceful person I am helps keep me driven to complete each project to the best I possibly can. My goal is to make this film the best yet.

James Macleod, Director of Photography

I have always been interested in films, however it wasn't until I attended a local BFI Academy when I was sixteen that I wanted to explore film making as a career. Since then, I have carried out different crew roles on various projects which ultimately led me down the route of cinematographer.

Keen on both camera and lights, I aim to use what I have learnt so far to realize this ambitious script, as well as experiment with new ideas and techniques to tell the story. We have assembled a talented cast and crew who together will strive to make this film the very best, and through out the process I hope to further my own skills as a Director of Photography.

Natalia Rogowska, Producer

I have always been passionate about filmmaking, but did not realise I could truly pursue it as a career until I started studying it at university. I believe as a producer my responsibility is to make things happen and support my team creatively. I aim to always push myself to be better and achieve in my role. I am so thankful to be a part of a great project like this one and I hope it will be one we can be all be proud of.
