Aim
To provide monthly groceries packs for 20 vulnerable families, approximately 100 individuals, in our community for the next six months.
Introduction
At Enjoy Church we recognise that family finances for the most vulnerable will be very stretched as we come out of the current situation. Prior to the Coronavirus we have been working with 10 of these families for just under a year by providing support, events and essential supplies. As the situation in the country starts to unfold, it is becoming evident that additional families are falling into this vulnerable category.
Support
We are now looking to provide our support for up to 20 families with a monthly groceries pack. One pack will cost us approximately £25.00 and we are looking to maintain this support for the next six months. So, £100.00 will support one family for the remainder of 2020.
Our Team
As a Church we have a dedicated team of 5 individuals who are organising this, and many other responses to the pandemic. We also have a team of 14 volunteers that we can call upon to assist with deliveries and to maintain contact with the individuals that we support.
Successes to Date
This element of our project started in February 2020 and to date (August 2020) we have been able to deliver grocery packs for each of the seven months to 20 families impacting 100 individuals. So that is 140 grocery packs.
