Aim
We’re creating a unified hub for workshops, coffee, and community. Support our £7k goal to build a space where everyone is welcome.
We have the space, the ideas, and a plan to create something missing from our local area: a true Third Space. A place that isn't home and isn't work, but a community "home base" where you can simply be.
Currently, our shop and our workroom exist as two separate units. We want to break down the physical barrier between them, installing a new doorway to create one seamless, open-plan hub designed for connection.
What This New Space Will Offer
By joining these two areas, we are creating a versatile environment that adapts to the needs of everyone in our community:
A Place to Connect: Walk through from the shop into an open, inviting area to enjoy a cuppa and cake. Whether you’re meeting a friend or looking for a friendly face, this is your space.
A Place to Create: From craft classes to skill-sharing, our unified workroom will host a variety of workshops for all ages and abilities.
A Place for the Next Generation: We will provide affordable after-school sessions, giving local youth a safe, inspiring environment to hang out and learn outside of the classroom.
A Place for Everyone: Most public settings can be loud and overwhelming. Our hub is being intentionally designed to be calm & welcoming, removing the barriers that often make people feel like they don’t belong in public spaces.
Where the £7k Goes
We are committed to using 100% local trades to complete this transformation:
The Opening: Structural work to join the two rooms into one open space.
Accessibility: Redesigning our toilet to be accessible.
The Kitchen: Upgrading to full compliance so we can serve sit-in drinks and cake.
The Fit-Out: Creating a calm, inclusive environment for every visitor usinf local artists to create the warm welcoming atmosphere you expect of Love Local
