Target reached!
More pledges would help us fund court fencing too.
More pledges would help us fund court fencing too.
Our aim is to floodlight all 5 courts at Lostock, more than doubling the opportunity to play tennis all year round.
Our Club
Lostock Tennis Club was founded in 1923 to provide tennis facilities for the local community. It now boasts 5 excellent artificial grass courts, two of which are floodlit, and a recently refurbished clubhouse. The Club has a membership of over 150 made up of Full Adult Sports Members, Social Members, Students, Junior 11-17 and Junior 5-10 categories. The Club is run completely by volunteers from the membership.
What we aim to achieve
We want to extend our floodlights to all 5 courts, more than doubling the opportunity for members and non-members (Pay and Play) to play tennis through the darker evenings and allowing our coaching groups to maintain the quality and safety standards of the summer season all year round.
What has happened so far
At the start of 2020 we launched our floodlights fund with a sponsored Tennis Marathon and a sponsored Skydive. We want to thank all those who took part and all those who sponsored our team. It is much appreciated.
We had big plans for further fundraising throughout the year but then……Covid struck!

The impact of Covid 19
Our plans for the future of the club have been severely disrupted by Covid 19. We planned to put the finishing touches to our clubhouse refurbishment, replace the surround fencing of the courts and of course raise the necessary funds to replace and extend our floodlights.
Unfortunately our finances have been severely damaged by the significant economic impact of the pandemic. The club relies on revenue from social events, private hire (Birthday Parties and Christenings) and hospitality in our bar as important sources of income for development projects, and all such activity has been suspended or heavily restricted since March. Obviously all fundraising events have had to be cancelled.
How you can help
We now need the help of our members, supporters and friends to pledge funds and secure the financial health of our fantastic club, so that we can continue to sustain the physical and mental well-being of our community and continue with our longer term plans for future development.
We've prepared an exciting package of rewards to show our appreciation for your support. We are really grateful for any contribution that people are willing to make towards securing the immediate financial health of the club. By supporting the club at a time when many of its chief sources of revenue have vanished, pledgers are helping the club maintain our customary excellent provision and allowing us to continue with our exciting plans for the future.
Coaching
We have an active Coaching program which is open to all in the community, and provide regular open days for the community to use the club for free with the aim to get more people active.

Our Aims
Our ambition is to encourage participation in tennis and make the sport accessible and enjoyable for our entire community, regardless of age, ability or background.
To achieve this aim, we must develop our facilities in the future to keep pace with modern demands and expectations, so that tennis can continue to be enjoyed year-round, rather than being constrained to its traditional season.

Let’s get those floodlights done!
