Over the past year Lordship Hub, a community-run building in the centre of Tottenham’s largest park, has been a hive of activity providing many things for local people and park users.
- Volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities have enjoyed working in the Hub Café and taken what they needed from the experience

- Over 100 people per week have enjoyed classes for adults and children, including exercise and relaxation, baby classes, children’s dance, adult singing and arts and crafts for all ages.

- Adults, Children and families have enjoyed our seasonal events at Easter, Mother’s Day, Halloween, Fireworks Night and Winter Fair.
- Local people have made use of our weekly food bank and free hot meal run by Ok Foundation who use our facilities for free and our Seniors’ Coffee Morning run by Hub volunteers.

- Our Café has served good quality food and hot and cold drinks and snacks, always with an affordable option

- The Friends of Lordship Rec, who help maintain the park with volunteers, have used the office facilities for admin and meetings for free.
- Our staff have always been there to help and to answer any queries about the Hub, the Park and other services
- We have promoted local artists by offering free monthly exhibitions in our café

- We have promoted and supported activities happening in the park and kept an area for information on local events and services.
Why we need your support
Lordship Hub Co-op is a member led cooperative run by staff and volunteers? We don’t receive any regular grant funding and we rely solely on our trading income to pay our overheads and staff costs as well as to provide our space to other community organisations and run community events.
- Our building is owned by Haringey council, who carried out necessary repair and refurbishment work on the building this summer. The works overran considerably due to unseen problems. This meant that classes had to be cancelled, the toilets and the café were closed for a time and basically we lost a lot of our normal summer trade. Summer is usually our busiest time for trade and when we make a surplus that gets us through winter. Because our trade was heavily impacted by the works, our reserves have been somewhat depleted.
- We need to build up our reserves so that we can sustain our staffing levels and offer subsidised/affordable services where we can.
On top of replenishing our reserves:
- We also need to replace necessary Hub IT equipment computers which will be made obsolete by upcoming Microsoft updates.
- The cafe also needs to replace crucial bits of equipment
Lordship Hub is a Living Wage Employer and none of our staff are on zero-hour contracts.
