We are Dangerosity, a critically acclaimed theatre company and community of creatives that includes actors, directors, writers and producers, currently nominated for the Brighton International Fringe Encore Award sponsored by soho playhouse NYC. We strive to inspire and challenge artists to work on new material with goals to actively engage audiences to inspire conversation, debate and action. We make work that makes you forget about who's picking up the kids and what to have for dinner. Post Covid UK is crying out for writing that doesn't leave space for a passive audience. Below, you can find more information about us and our new exciting show.

We invite you to support Dangerosity’s debut at the Edinburgh Fringe with our brand new show 'Long Long Long Live', a very compelling piece of new writing. A tragic-comedy that reflects on current issues such as the cost of living crisis and growing up in different socio-economic backgrounds. We invite you to spy on the contrasting life situations of 6 different characters, throughout 3 different stories, happening on the same day, sharing the same context. It's the 19th of September 2022, while Queen Elizabeth’s funeral was taking place costing more that 100,000 million British pounds, the UK was approaching the highest level of inflation in the last 4 decades. What was happening behind the scenes of one of the biggest and fanciest ceremony's in history?

Any contribution will make a HUGE difference not just for this occasion, but for the future of our company. We believe that this project is worth investing in and we are incredibly grateful for your support! Please check out our rewards section, we want to keep in touch with our supporters and build lasting relationships. Please continue reading for more info about our company and the creatives involved in this project.

ABOUT DANGEROSITY:

Dangerosity started three years ago as a weekly free workshop for theatre professionals developing into the thriving theatre collective that it is today. Over the last few years our company has supported over 200 individuals in their development as artists. Our headquarters are in the heart of London’s west end which is where the magic happens (ie performances such as new writing festivals, scratch nights, workshops, etc). Our company is currently performing at the Brighton Fringe and has performed in venues such as Canal Theatre Cafe and Southwark Playhouse. The company has a number of award winning artists and is full of bright upcoming talent led by our experienced artistic director Glynne Steele.

Some reviews from Dangerosity's shows:

"It’s a small story with massive implications, elegantly capturing the quiet distress caused by modern life, and somehow leaving audience members with a bit of hope for Peto and for themselves." (Theatre Reviews Hub)

"If you’ve ever responded to an email with the phrase “no worries if not” then you’re bound to find Three agonisingly relatable” ★★★★ (London Pub Theatres)

LONG LONG LONG LIVE:

Tragic-comedies about cost of living "I have never purchased a tin of baked beans in my life."- Oliver Dowden, Conservative MP for Hertsmere. The funny stuff was already written for us.

The show was born from our own frustrations, we thought that sometimes it’s easier to try and put your fears into reality by making a show about them, why not right? The aim of our play is to take you on an emotional rollercoaster, using a mixture of comedy and tragedy mirroring individual situations in a raw and unfiltered way, an honest reflection of our own experiences. Our home, this nation -  is currently a big tragic-comedy; almost like the show was already written for us. This play will provide a realistic interpretation on the cultural, social and economical issues we are facing in today's society and hopefully laugh and cry together.

WHY EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL:

This show will mark Dangerosity’s Edinburgh Festival debut. Edinburgh fringe is the world's leading arts festival, last year alone 2.2 million tickets were sold for over 3,000 shows from performers from 63 different countries. In the past, the festival has given vital exposure to shows such as Fleabag, The Play That Goes Wrong and Constellations, all of which are now hugely successful shows, helped massively by the platform that was provided for them at the Fringe. This festival is a unique opportunity to showcase our company’s work to an international audience, allowing us to grow and expand as a theatre company beyond our London roots. Ensuring that ultimately we are able to extend the work we make to a wider and more diverse audience – actively creating and promoting new writing of the highest quality.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP - FUNDING :

What do we need your financial help for?

All the funds that we will receive from the crowdfunder will go towards the show. If there is any extra budget (fingers crossed!) it will be invested in the growth and development of our company and future work. On the chart below you can see where all the contributions will go.

1685323455_1685323454500.png

Venue cost: We have secured a venue and have already payed the deposit. We will soon need to pay the remaining cost.

Registering with fringe society: Registering for the Ed Fringe festival isn't cheap!

Set: We will need to cover the cost of set design, props and their transportation.

Marketing: We want our show to reach as many people as possible, to achieve this, we need to invest in flyers, posters, social media posts, etc.

Food and Travel: Tickets from London to Edinburgh and back are very expensive. Ticket prices go up especially when having to include transportation of props and set. We also need to eat everyday so any help for this is very appreciated!

Accommodation: This is the second biggest cost that we need to cover. We need somewhere for our three lovely actors to stay during their time in Edinburgh, somewhere they can recharge their batteries to bring all the energy needed for every show. The prices for accommodation during August are very high, so we would really appreciate any contributions to make it easier for us to cover it.

Technician’s Salary: We decided to out-source an Edinburgh based technician for our show. As we all are Dangerosity members, we have decided to put any extra funding we have after the show back into our company’s budget for financing future work. However, we strongly believe that it is very important to pay creatives for their hard work, so we want to allocate a budget for our non Dangerosity Edinburgh based technician.

We can't wait to see you in Edinburgh, thank you for your support!
