- My name is Rob Archer and I have been wanting to run the London marathon for many years ever since i worked the water stations from when i was about 11 years old . In 2008 i had a serious motorcycle crash where i fractured my leg in many places and was left unable to walk for 3 and a half years , was even told i might never heal . After 4 operations ( i have pictures lol ) and from the help of one of the best surgeons in the country i was able to walk again . After not been able to walk for so long the leg was weak and i was unfit i starting exercising which starting from just doing a lot of walking and then to move onto gym work . After time i started to run on the roads and even started doing a fair few race's which included loads of 5k and 10k runs . In 2015 i managed to run the hackney half marathon and done the same again in 2016. In 2016 i managed to get in one of the biggest half marathons and had a place in the royal park's half marathon. I then went on to to run the virtual great north run in 2020. My goal was still not complete i wanted more i wanted the London marathon and after 6 years of trying i got a place in the 2020 London marathon my ultimate goal is now gonna be complete on the 26th of April .But due to covid restrictions my dream seemed like it had ended and the event got cancelled . I still managed to run my marathon on the 4th october 2020 but was done virtual due to covid. And after i find out i also gained myself a guiness world record for the most users to run a remote marathon in 24hours. So yes, i run a marathon but my goal was still not complete. So, on the 3rd of october this year i will be in london to finally fun the 41st london marathon along with what is looking like another 50,000 people could this be another world record very possible, i think . My goal my dream will be complete this year .
I want to run for sericc for all the help you given us and still are giving my partner and my 2 step kids it really is an honour to run this for you .
