Aim

Edinburgh sweethearts Logan's Close, seek financial support from their gorgeous fans, to record their long-awaited second album this Summer

We almost signed a horrendous record deal...

We came very close to signing the contract for a record deal that would have required us to give up ownership of our music forever for 20%. We were/are desperate to get our new music out there into the world. Almost signing that deal in January, has only given us more impetus to do the next one independently. Having sold out venues across the UK and toured Europe on the strength of our debut album, we're asking the LC community to help us make the next record on our own terms.

Our Story

Four years ago, we asked our listeners to help us make our debut album.

Thanks to the incredible support of the LC community, the Creative Scotland-backed crowdfunding campaign raised over £11,000, allowing us to record and release Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi.

What happened next changed everything.

The album helped us reach new audiences across the UK and Europe, leading to sold-out headline shows, festival appearances, national radio support, and opportunities we could only have dreamed of when we started the band. In 2023, we sold out Edinburgh's Liquid Room, and in 2024 we took our music across Europe on a 12-date tour spanning five countries. Along the way we've had the privilege of sharing stages with artists we admire, including Kula Shaker, The Boomtown Rats and Ghost Funk Orchestra.

But throughout all of this, one thing remained constant: we kept writing.

Over the last two years, we've been quietly working on what we believe are the strongest songs we've ever written. Songs that pick up where Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi left off, while pushing the sound of Logan's Close into exciting new territory.

At the beginning of 2026, it looked as though these songs would become our second album through a record label partnership.

For a while, it felt like every musician's dream was finally within reach.

But as negotiations progressed, it became clear that the deal came at a cost we weren't prepared to pay. The contract would have required us to give up ownership of our master recordings permanently, alongside a number of other restrictive conditions. Despite months of discussion, no meaningful compromises could be reached.

Walking away was one of the hardest decisions we've ever made.

For a few weeks, it felt like the album might not happen at all.

Then we remembered how the first album happened.

Not because a label believed in us.

Because you did.

This summer, we packed out two back-to-back sold-out shows at Leith's FAB Cricket Club, debuting many of the songs destined for album two. Seeing those rooms full of people singing along to songs that haven't even been recorded yet reminded us exactly why we started this band in the first place.

So we've decided to do what Logan's Close has always done when faced with a challenge: take matters into our own hands.

After months of research, we've booked time at SFJ Studio in London, a studio whose sound and approach perfectly match the record we want to make. We've already paid the deposit ourselves and secured two weeks in the studio this July.

Now we need your help to get the album over the line.

Our target of £5,000 will cover the essential costs of recording the album, including studio time, engineers, session musicians, accommodation, travel, mixing, and Crowdfunder fees. We've carefully budgeted every aspect of the project to make sure every pound goes directly into creating the best record we possibly can.

This isn't just funding a recording session.

It's helping us retain ownership of our music.

It's helping us make the album on our own terms.

It's helping us prove that independent artists can still create ambitious records without compromising their vision.

Most importantly, it's helping these songs find their way into the world.

If we reach our goal, we'll head into the studio this summer and begin recording the second Logan's Close album. The finished record will then become the foundation for the next chapter of the band's journey—whether that means partnering with the right label, securing further funding, or releasing it independently ourselves.

However it happens, we'll know that this album exists because of the people who believed in it first.

Thank you for being part of that story.
