We will renovate the lodge indoor skatepark and inspire young people into getting active for social/mental health benefits.
We are seeking support from crowdfunder.co.uk for:
Promoting social interaction and community cohesion through action/wheeled sports, whilst reducing isolation, social, physical and mental health issues in our local communities.
We want to redesign our indoor skatepark to include a new mini ramp and/or a mini bowl for the benefit of young people across Devon.
With our new skatepark we plan to provide more taster sessions, skateboard and scooter coaching for beginners and encourage more children and young people who want to try a wheeled sport such as Scootering, Skateboarding, BMX or Roller Skating.
We will offer 'diversionary' activities to young people across devon, whilst promoting physical activity, wellbeing, respect for others, skatepark etiquette and upskilling young people to volunteer, train and learn from each other.
If we can raise enough funds, we plan to spend the money on renovating the indoor skatepark, purchasing equipment, rewards/goodies, helmets, leaflets, advertising, qualifications and training for new volunteers/staff, transport, staff/volunteer kit, and portable ramps for school visits.
We want to offer vouchers to PCSOs, the Police, Youth Workers and intervention services to encourage disengaged young people into the Lodge indoor Skatepark facility and the world of wheeled sports.
We will also encourage community safety, respect for others, and security tagging as part of our events and activities.
