Help make Lockleaze Community Cafe happen!

Aim

Help us fit out our new Community Cafe and Library! We're building a much-needed place for our community to connect, eat and be together.

We all know that Lockleaze needs more spaces for togetherness, and as part of Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust’s new Community Centre on Gainsborough Square, we are creating a new Lockleaze Community Cafe. 

We will only get the cafe space as a concrete shell, so we need to raise money to fit out the new cafe with heating, electrics, kitchen and all.

Our community has long been asking for more places to meet, in our Community Plan and community conversations. Our weekly Hubbub Cafe has also been growing, and there is clear appetite to open throughout the week.

The cafe will be a non-commercial place for groups to meet and flourish, for volunteering and work experience, and for our community to connect. It will also host a small community-led library, the first of its kind in Bristol.

We want the cafe to be an attractive, warm and friendly place to meet, with a modern and inclusive design- see the proposed style below from Shape Studio.

This is a big step for Lockleaze and we really need your help to make it work. If we can collect £10,000 in donations, we can not only make a dent in our overall goal of around £200k, but we can show potential funders that this is something that Lockleaze really wants and needs.
