On the 1st May 2022 we'd raised £16,568 with 119 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Any additional funding raised will go towards the replacement of our practice nets. This is a significant development for the club and the project is estimated to cost around £35,000.
About us
We are a family friendly cricket club based in rural Northamptonshire and are proud to be ECB Clubmark accredited. For years the club has seen generations of family play in different teams and strives to continue to grow for future generations to enjoy. Along side our two senior teams and a woman’s team, we have a strong and growing youth set-up.
Youth development is important for LMCC, allowing us to offer training to children in the local community from the age of five years of age. Children can join the club through All Stars from five years, moving up to the Dynamos when they turn eight and progressing to our league teams between 11-15.
COVID
Like many organisations and clubs, the pandemic has had a significant impact on the club’s key revenue streams.
National lockdowns over the last two years have reduced cricket seasons and as a non profit club we have suffered. We rely on membership fees, match fees, bar revenue and fundraising events - majority of which were cancelled. In addition, we regrettably lost two of our main club sponsors.
Funding
All money raised through Crowdfunder will go towards offsetting our losses, giving us the opportunity to invest in developing our facilities for our members.
Improving facilities is such an important part of attracting new members and our main priority on our development plan is to replace the training nets at the club.
Our plan
The support we’ve received so far has been incredible. We are so close to raising what we need, and hope Crowdfunder can help us get across the boundary.
Quotes from England and Wales Cricket Board approved suppliers suggested the replacement will cost £30,000 + VAT for a brand new two lane netting facility. The club are committed to raising £10,000 towards making this happen.
We’ll be reaching out to members, the local community and businesses, as well as running additional fundraising events throughout 2022 for support to ensure we can make this dream come true for our players.
Benefits to the club
We plan to use this facility as a focal point in the local community and be utilised by all ages, genders and abilities.
Increasing capacity promotes regular physical activity, supporting existing members and potentially new members to improve their physical and mental health.
During the spring and summer months, the nets are used by all teams at least three times a week. The new nets will allow us to meet the demand of more members at the club as we continue to grow our youth, girls and senior sides.
On top of this they will give our players a safer place to practice, learn and improve by offering different types of training opportunities.
The quote includes the addition of a metal cage around the nets, which will reduce the risk of damage and ongoing maintenance costs.
Thank you from the Club
We are truly grateful for all donations and ideas on how we can raise funds towards our plans. They make a huge difference to each and every member of Loddington and Mawsley Cricket Club and allow us to grow and compete within our leagues. Thank you for taking the time to read our proposal and for your continued support over the years.
