Aim

The LLSRU will be completing a 13mile sponsored walk to their grassroots clubs on the 29/08/26 to raise vital funds for the upcoming season!

Who are we?

For over 30 years, Llwchwr Schools Rugby has inspired and developed young rugby talent across West Wales. Founded by local headmasters Raymond Beech and Howell Williams, the district provides a vital grassroots pathway, helping hundreds of players achieve their potential—including Welsh Captain, Gwyn Jones and British & Irish Lions stars Leigh Halfpenny and Dan Biggar. By supporting Llwchwr Schools Rugby, you're investing in the next generation of players and the future of community rugby.

The Challenge!

On Saturday 29th August, the district squad will complete a sponsored walk from Pontarddulais to Dunvant, proudly visiting their grassroots clubs along the way.

The 13 mile walk will begin in Pontarddulais and will include a visit at Gorseinon RFC, Loughor RFC, Waunarlwydd RFC, Gowerton RFC, before finishing at Dunvant RFC to celebrate their achievement! 

The team will also stop at the iconic Llwchwr Rock on Garngoch Common, for a team photo and well-earned refreshment break.

The sponsored walk is a fantastic opportunity to raise vital funds for the 2026/27 rugby season and strengthen the Llwchwr team spirit, ahead of the new campaign.

The funds raised will be used towards the costs for the season, which includes match day buses to away games, the players presentation, playing kit, winter training facilities and more! Every representative player is fundraising to help support the district and ensure another successful season of developing the next generation of local rugby talent!
