Raising funds to improve player safeguarding and provide valuable team and individual feedback to support player/team development.

Who are we?

Llanyrafon AFC Seniors are the adult section of Llanyrafon AFC, a community football club established in 1966 in Cwmbran. The team provides competitive football opportunities while supporting player development, safeguarding, and progression from youth football into the senior game.

Why are we crowdfunding?

At Llanyrafon AFC, we are committed to providing the safest and best possible environment for our players to learn, develop and enjoy football.

We are crowdfunding to invest in essential safeguarding and coaching equipment that will help us better support our players both on and off the pitch. The funding will allow us to purchase equipment that enhances player welfare, improves coaching sessions, and provides valuable team and individual feedback to aid development.

By introducing modern coaching and analysis tools, our players will receive the feedback they deserve, helping them understand their performance, recognise their strengths, and identify areas for improvement. At the same time, improved safeguarding resources will help us maintain the highest standards of care and protection for everyone involved in our club.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will directly benefit our players and help us continue building a safe, inclusive and progressive football environment for our community.

Sport Wales shares our vision of creating positive sporting experiences and supporting the development of grassroots clubs across Wales. Through their support and guidance, we have been able to launch this crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for vital safeguarding and coaching equipment that will directly benefit our players.

This partnership demonstrates the importance of investing in community sport and ensuring that local clubs have access to the resources needed to provide safe, enjoyable and developmental environments for participants. The funding raised will help us improve player welfare, enhance coaching delivery, and provide meaningful team and individual feedback to support player growth and development.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The funds raised through this crowdfunding campaign will be invested in the purchase of a VEO camera system, a modern sports recording and analysis tool that will significantly enhance both player development and safeguarding across Llanyrafon AFC.

The introduction of VEO technology will provide our coaches and players with access to high-quality match and training footage, enabling detailed performance analysis and constructive feedback. Players will be able to review their performances, identify strengths, understand areas for improvement, and track their progress throughout the season. This will create a more engaging learning environment and support the development of players at all levels of the club.

In addition to its coaching benefits, the VEO camera will strengthen our safeguarding provision. Recorded footage can provide greater transparency and accountability during matches and training sessions, helping to create a safer environment for players, coaches, volunteers and parents. The system will offer reassurance that activities are being conducted in line with the club's safeguarding standards and best practices.

The VEO camera will also help build confidence throughout the club by allowing players to see their achievements, celebrate team successes, and gain a better understanding of their role within the team. Parents and supporters will have opportunities to follow player progress and engage more closely with the club's activities.

By investing in this technology, Llanyrafon AFC is investing in the future of its players. The equipment will be used across our senior and youth sections, ensuring long-term benefits for hundreds of players and helping us continue to provide a safe, inclusive and progressive football environment for our community.

Community impact

The introduction of this equipment will have a positive and lasting impact not only on Llanyrafon AFC, but on the wider communities of Llanyrafon and Cwmbran.

As a long-established grassroots football club, Llanyrafon AFC plays an important role in bringing people together through sport, providing opportunities for players of all ages and backgrounds to participate in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment. By investing in modern safeguarding and coaching technology, we will be able to further improve the experience we offer to local players, families and volunteers.

The VEO camera system will enhance player development by allowing coaches to provide detailed feedback and analysis, helping individuals build confidence, improve their skills and reach their potential. This creates a more positive and engaging football experience, encouraging long-term participation in sport and promoting healthy lifestyles within the community.

The project will also strengthen safeguarding standards across the club, giving parents, guardians and supporters greater reassurance that players are participating in a well-managed and secure environment. Creating safe spaces for young people to enjoy sport is essential to the wellbeing of the local community.

In addition, the equipment will help strengthen community engagement by allowing players, families and supporters to celebrate achievements and stay connected with the club through recorded highlights and match analysis. This helps build pride in both the club and the local area with over 25+ age groups and over 400 Players across the club we anticipate that each age group will review and watch the highlights. We also have a Disabled PAN Team that have recently won there first trophy with a very promising set up and team.

Ultimately, this investment is about more than football. It is about creating opportunities, improving wellbeing, developing confidence, encouraging teamwork and ensuring that young people and adults in Llanyrafon and Cwmbran continue to have access to positive community sport for years to come.
