My name is Liz Aspden, and I am standing as an independent candidate for Sheffield Hallam in the forthcoming general election.
I believe that Sheffield Hallam deserves a fresh start and that, as a hard working independent MP, I would be ideally placed to deliver this. I grew up in a rural part of the constituency, and spent much of my life living there: it's a place I still consider home, and feel a very strong connection to. I'm keen to find out from you what your needs are, how I can best represent you, and which policies are important to you.
A bit about what I can offer you:
I'll be organising a series of open meetings around the Sheffield Hallam constituency over the coming weeks with a view to meeting constituents and discussing important issues.
I'll keep my campaign as low cost as possible! And I will keep production of election litter to an absolute minimum. However, there will be costs associated with, eg, registering my candidacy, the production of appropriate marketing materials, hosting of open meetings, etc. If you can't afford to contribute financially, but would like to volunteer your time, your support will still be very much appreciated. Please contact me via twitter (@liz4hallam) or e-mail ([email protected]) if you are able to offer any time to the campaign. Equally, please do contact me if you'd like to find out more about what I stand for.
All levels of donations are very gratefully received - however, please note that under electoral regulations, I can only accept donations of £50 or more if you are currently on the UK electoral register; under these circumstances, I will need to check your eligibility and provide your information to the Electoral Commission, who may publish donors' details. If donating £50 or more, you must provide your name and full address.
By making a donation, you confirm that you are eligible to make political donations in the UK.
