Aim: We want to share Catherine’s story of agoraphobia to help others understand the difficulties and challenges of mental health.

We are two friends with a passion for mental health.

Catherine was part of the rock band Cat who toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe, with hits including Mind Games and Forgiveness. But with a life plagued with mental health issues and feeling a need to escape, Catherine decided to write. She decided to write a fabulous world for herself, where she could go and do whatever she liked and could become all the things she could only imagine, she is now a published author. However, agoraphobia left her trapped for years.

Kady is a journalist and broadcaster who is passionate about opening conversations around bereavement and loss following her own personal experiences of grief. Kady is also a passionate advocate for mental health and when meeting Catherine for the first time she had no idea where their journey would lead them.

During lockdown Catherine hit rock bottom, and couldn’t see a way out.

But a few phone calls and messages between the two of them they knew they needed to turn this around together.

The pair began documenting Catherine’s journey because after a life in lockdown, now might be the time that other people will understand just how trapped she had been feeling.

It was small steps at first, but the aim was to get Catherine back on stage, centre stage, where she belongs. (You need to watch the film to find out the rest!)

We want to be able to screen this film in front of health professionals, friends, colleagues and anyone who is interested in improving mental health support.

That’s why we are asking for your support. To help us find a venue, to put this project on a big screen because the story is huge and we are now ready to share it.

Help us, help others.

As well as the documentary Catherine & Kady have gone on to set up SELF-UK (Supporting Every Life Forward) where they are sharing other personal stories of mental health struggles and they are also building a UK Map of mental health support services across the UK to make sure help is there for everyone when they might need it the most.
