To save this disused church building on the Isle of Skye & renovate it into a community-focused art gallery!
We are Willie & Sarah - two creatives who moved from a suburban town in central Scotland, to the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands to pursue our creative practices (watercolour painting, jewellery making & music).
This year we are taking on our biggest challenge yet - buying a disused church building in our local village, to save it from falling into disrepair and transform it into a community-focused gallery space. We won't only display our own work, but also that of a variety of local artists and craftspeople. We hope to keep this building open to the public, so that those people who remember attending the church can still access the space.
We are raising funds to help with this renovation project - your support will help make our dreams come true and make this amazing building into something lasting for the local community and for those people who visit the area too.
The funds we raise with this project will go directly into the renovation work required to make this gallery a success, including window & roof repairs, electrical rewiring, building materials and installing running water and a toilet!
