Liverpool - Brexit Free City

Aim

Campaign for the great European City of Liverpool's future in Europe.

Liverpool for Europe has been given a Fringe Event at the Labour Party Conference to be held in Liverpool on 24 September. This is the first time that a pro - EU group has been INSIDE a Party Conference. It is our intention to hold a full debate about the impact of  Brexit upon our city and nation. We would declare ourselves ' Brexit - free' given the support of our pro- EU MPs , MEPs,  Liverpool City Mayor and local activists. As a Labour heartland with 14 / 15 Labour MPs, a Labour City Mayor, a Labour Metro Mayor and all six districts councils controlled by Labour, we call upon our politicians to lead the nation in avoiding the deleterious effects of Brexit on our citizens' rights, businesses, health services and community cohesion. 

This event will be representative of the whole nation and present a case for strong opposition to Brexit from the Labour Party and a call for a People's Vote. Professor Michael Dougan will be moderating and firm acceptances have come from Chuka Ummuna and Louise Ellman. Others tbc  There will also be representatives from business and the unions  

We cannot do this without the support of our fellow campaigners throughout the country. We are  completely self - funded and committed to paying £2,400 for the room and it would be really helpful if we could reach that target within the next few days.
