Aim

Little Pancake Place will bring tasty gluten free (vegan, dairy free) mini pancakes to festivals. Starting at small festivals in EastSussex

I have founded and have been running a not for profit, social enterprise supporting people with dementia and their carers for the past 7 years. I want to use the knowledge I have gained to build another business.

As an avid festival attendee I have wanted to set up my own festival food business for several years. Having been gluten free diet for a short while and with friends who are celiac I am very aware of the little choice available for those on a restricted diet at festivals.

It was not until a dutch friend introduced me to poffertjes - mini pancakes saw a great opportunity and decided to developed the recipes to be gluten free and created an tasty menu of sweet and savoury toppings to go with them.

My husband has built a great Geodesic dome to be our festival kitchen and serving area. We used little build with hubs and coppiced local wood. The structure is beautiful and it just needs cover to protect us from the elements. We have the pancake cooker and a lot of the kitchen equipment and consumables, but we now need some additional items like the dome cover, large cool boxes additional tables, portable hand wash sink, single gas stove to heat the milk for on site pancake mix making.

We want to use local suppliers, organic where possible and all our consumables like serving trays and forks etc will be either compostable or recyclable.

Once the Pancake Place has made enough money we want to add a chill out dome, because often at festivals there is no where to sit and rest, being on your feet for long periods of time. The dome offers the flexibility of adding that space.
