It now needs YOUR support to keep it open.

Little Hadham Village Hall Trust

Help us secure the future of Little Hadham Village Hall and keep its heart beating.

For more than 50 years, Little Hadham Village Hall has been at the heart of our community.

Built in 1971 with an expected life of just 20 years, our wood constructed hall has far outlived its original purpose. It has hosted birthdays, weddings, clubs, meetings, pantomimes, celebrations, NHS clinics, community meals, films and countless memories.

But the hall is now facing its biggest challenge yet.

Our flat roof needs replacing, at an estimated cost of £45,000.

We have been incredibly fortunate to receive an offer of £15,000 from Sport England, but only if we can raise £15,000 in match funding.

For a village of around 1,500 people, this is a huge amount to find.

But this isn't just about a roof.

It's about protecting a place where people belong.

After the dark days of Covid, our volunteers worked tirelessly to breathe new life into the hall. We painted, redecorated and secured funding for new windows, curtains and tables. A local housing association generously provided a new kitchen.

Slowly, the hall came back to life.

Today, volunteers serve 60 or more breakfasts at our monthly Community Brunch. Our Welcome Café provides a warm meal and friendship every week, helping tackle loneliness and isolation among older residents. We host digital workshops, Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, cinema afternoons, quizzes, bingo, music events and social evenings.

Children celebrate here. Families gather here. Clubs meet here. The NHS uses it to deliver vital services. Our annual pantomime brings the village together every January.

And when we held our first Summer Fayre in 2026, we saw once again what this building means to our community: people of all ages coming together, laughing, talking and sharing something that belongs to all of us.

Our hall is not simply bricks, timber and a roof.

  • It is friendship.
  • It is support.
  • It is connection.
  • It is community.

We know times are difficult. Our own costs continue to rise, with energy bills and an annual insurance premium of more than £8,900 putting increasing pressure on our finances.

But we cannot let financial pressures undo everything our volunteers and community have achieved.

We need your help.

If we can raise £15,000, we can unlock the £15,000 Sport England contribution and take a huge step towards securing our new roof.

Every donation, however large or small, will bring us closer.

If you can't donate, please share our campaign. Tell your friends, your family, local businesses and anyone who believes that villages need places where people can come together.

Help us protect Little Hadham Village Hall.

Help us keep the lights on, the doors open and the welcome warm.

Help us keep the heart of Little Hadham beating for the next 50 years.

Thank you. ❤️
