Re-dish is an amazing charity based in Reddish, Stockport that aims to:
- Improve the lives of the people living within the wards of Reddish and Heaton Norris
- Create a sense of community pride
- Become known as the place to go to for support if you have a problem or crisis
As well as its popular charity shop located in Reddish, the charity runs a number of important projects:
The charity provides free and low cost food for those most at need in the community. Volunteers help to run a foodbank that can be accessed by those struggling to make ends meet or at crisis point.
The charity has worked with businesses and volunteers to develop a garden that can be accessed by the local community and used for growing produce, socialising and just relaxing.
The Re-dish charity has provided a safe place for young people aged between 11 and 15 to meet, socialise and have fun together.
The charity offers friendship and support to those suffering from individual isolation/
Re-dish promotes the sharing of skills and knowledge across Reddish and has set up a job club in order to help people access local skills training and support.
The charity provides rooms that are a focal point for the local community to meet and socialise, share skills and knowledge and get information and advice as well as training.
The charity encourages the local community to recycle and reuse goods in the Reddish area and has set up a depot where people can bring and exchange goods.
Re-dish promotes physical and mental well-being across Reddish. Those living with dementia and their carers can pop along to the Dementia Cafe held at St Agnes Church in Reddish. Re-dish also runs a Banter and Brews group - a male support group that offers friendship and support.
