Running the London Marathon 2027 for Mind ❤️ Sharing my story, raising awareness and helping others know recovery is possible. 🏃‍♀️

Hi, and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2027, I will be taking on the London Marathon for Mind — a charity that is incredibly important and personal to me.

I think most of us know someone who has been affected by mental health, whether that is a friend, family member or even ourselves. For me, mental health has been a huge part of my own journey.

Following the birth of my children, I developed severe postnatal depression. What started as postnatal depression escalated and led to a number of other struggles. I became severely depressed and anxious, struggled to find motivation and began relying on alcohol to cope with stress and my emotions. I also developed an eating disorder and struggled with self-harm.

At my lowest point, things became too much and I made a suicide attempt by overdose. I was eventually admitted to hospital, where I received treatment and was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). At the time, I had never even heard of BPD, but when I learned more about it, so much of what I had experienced finally started to make sense.

After hospital treatment, I went on to receive support from the Community Mental Health Team for a number of years. It was a long, incredibly difficult journey, but with the right treatment, support and people around me, I have come out the other side.

Today, I am in a completely different place.I have rebuilt my life, returned to work, started enjoying life again and left behind many of the unhealthy coping mechanisms I once relied on. I am incredibly proud of how far I have come.

That is why running the London Marathon for Mind means so much to me. This marathon isn’t just about running 26.2 miles. For me, it represents everything I have overcome. Every mile will be a reminder of how far I have come.

I know there are people currently struggling with their mental health who may feel completely hopeless, isolated or as though there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I want my story to show that there can be hope, and that recovery and change are possible.

I am honoured that Mind has chosen me to represent them at the London Marathon, and I want to use this opportunity to raise as much money and awareness as I possibly can.

Your donation, no matter how big or small, could help Mind continue supporting people through some of the hardest times in their lives. It could help someone access support, feel less alone and know that there is someone there when they need it most.

If you are able to donate, I would be incredibly grateful. And if you can’t, simply sharing my page would mean so much to me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story, support my journey and help me raise money for a cause that is so close to my heart.

Every donation will help me get one step closer to the finish line — and help someone else get one step closer to recovery. ❤️

Thank you so much for your support. xx
