The Leicester International Music Festival (LIMF) provides chamber music of international standard in Leicester each September. It is the highlight of an annual calendar which includes very popular regular lunchtime concerts in the winter and spring, and occasional evening recitals. However September is particularly special: an ensemble gather together to produce music over several days and a unified theme. Concerts take place at New Walk Museum so that art is produced amidst more art.
Our Artistic Director, Nicholas Daniel, introduces the 2017 festival:
'To send light into the darkness of men's hearts – such is the duty of the artist.'
Robert Schumann
I am delighted to announce that the programme for 2017 will celebrate the music of J S Bach and Robert Schumann. In addition to hearing some of these composers' most brilliant works for keyboard and small ensemble, there will also be arrangements of Bach by Max Reger for piano four hands, pieces by Clara Schumann, the Brahms Horn Trio and Romancendres by Heinz Holliger, which was inspired by Schumann.
Performing these works is a team of some of the most stunningly brilliant musicians I know, coming together in Leicester for a whole week in order to concentrate on music at its best for an audience they love.
In order to make the festival sustainable and keep ticket prices affordable for as many people as possible, we need your help. This presents you with an opportunity not just to support an excellent local musical endeavour, but also to build a relationship with an established festival and wonderful artists.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
I do hope very much that you will feel able to support us, so that we can welcome friends old and new.

Programme (slightly revised 6/4/17 with details of our special family event)
Please note the following:
1. The Board would like to thank all those who support the festival. If you donate £20 or more, we’d like to include your name as a list of donors. Please let us know if you do not want this to happen.
2. In order to comply with gift aid regulations, some donations will also include a purchase element to cover the cost of the benefits as stated under each amount. You will pay your chosen amount on this platform, and if you make a gift aid declaration we will be able to claim back tax on this amount. Such claims are processed by our Treasurer manually and will adjust for this.
3. The Board has to look after the artists. This means that any contact with artists is subject to availability, contingent on a range of factors, including the needs of artists. The Board reserves the right to substitute this as necessary.
4. To make sure everything goes well any meeting with an artist will have at least one Board member present.
5. The Board reserves the right to substitute any and all benefits at its sole discretion; in the event of any such substitution or substitutions, refunds of neither donative or purchase element of any funds given to the Crowdfunding campaign or any other shall be given.
