Changing Places, A Lime Park Facilities revamp

Aim

To provide a revamp to the buildings for everyone to use, whether is be park runners, local school children or visiting sports teams.

Who are we?

We are the Causeway Giants, the North Coasts only American Football Team. Playing in an all Ireland League we where formed in 2018 and have players from all across the North Coast and further beyond!

Why are we crowdfunding?

Way back when we managed to purchase some storage containers as temporary buildings to allow a space for us to get changed and for members of the public to have toilet facilities at Lime Park. This space is also used by Park Runners and the children from the local summers schemes. Time and the notorious Limepark weather has taken its toll and we have always dreamed of giving the existing containers a makeover. Thanks to the Olympic Legacy Fund we will have an excellent opportunity to make this dream become a reality as Sport NI will fund 75% of the total cost.

How we’ll spend the money raised

If successful in our crowdfunding campaign we intend to purchase materials to refurbish the inside and outside of cabins onsite and to give them a new lease of life. The buildings serve many purposes to many people and over years have became run down and dilapidated, some TLC would be much recommended for the site. All materials will be sourced and bought locally to pass on as much revenue as possible to local shops and businesses.

Community impact

The buildings at Lime Park are used for not just American Football games but a whole range of other functions from hosting the weekly park run, school summer schemes, Young Farmers club functions and shelter for regular visitors caught in some of Lime Parks infamous weather.
