To provide employment to vulnerable people, reduce social isolation and promote physical and mental wellbeing for all the local population
Lily's Social Kitchen has been set up in a small bistro in Canterbury to offer a valuable service to the local community.
Its aims are to:
- Provide employment and skills to vulnerable people
- To tackle social isolation by providing a community, friendly cafe and by providing a space for support groups and social events
- To promote physical and mental wellbeing with workshops and projects run by local people
- Reduce reliance on processed food
- Offering cooking workshops for all ages so we fall back in love with cheap, tasty and sustainable food
- Working to reduce waste and be a sustainable business
- Working to utilise food surplus
