If we can raise more than the target we will use the funding to help towards putting on events in 2024
We would like to bring additonal Christmas lights and decorations to Walkden Town centre and the high street, bringing festive cheer to all.
Walkden community have been active since 2011 organising large scale events at Parrfold Park, The Walkden Town Centre, local car boot sales, and our Christmas event Walkden in a Winter Wonderland. We used the money raised from these past events to purchase the Christmas lights in the area but would now like to purchase additonal lights and decorations for the area
Many residents comments on the lights in the area, however many state they would love to see more. However we need to cover the ongoing costings involved, including testing and installing the lights, the council do support us but we would also like to add to what they are able to give.
We have 15,000 followers on our facebook page and are asking if people can now help us to support our events and initiatives by supporting with our funding pledge, even a £1 would help, if each of us put in we would raise £15,000 very quickly.
