Light Up Milestone Green, The Heart of East Sheen

Aim

We want to see the beautiful London Plane Tree at Milestone Green lit up this Christmas - and beyond. Please help us make Sheen Shine!

THANK YOU EAST SHEEN - WE DID IT! We raised the money needed to light up the tree at Milestone Green in just 12 hours. We can't thank you enough for your community spirit, generous support and positive messages.

We'll keep this page live for a while and open to contributions from anyone who may still wish to donate. Any additional funds will go straight back into the events and initiatives that we work on to keep our area vibrant and thriving. In the short term, we are also looking at lighting the three trees on Sheen Lane opposite the library and are gathering quotes.

Our original fund raising story:

For many years, the large tree at Milestone Green has stood unlit at the heart of our community. But many residents will remember when it once shone brightly.

Our vision is simple: to see the tree lit up again and restore a bit of magic to our local area. We believe the tree is crying out to be lit up again and would be the perfect centrepiece for Sheen, complementing the smaller Christmas Trees funded by your local high street businesses and subsidised by the Council, and making Sheen an attractive place to live and shop.

We're aiming to raise £1,575 which, in addition to the Council's contribution, covers the Council-sourced contractor, including tree surgeons, electricians, and all the necessary public safety measures PLUS 6,000 beautiful lights that will wrap around the main branches.

We’re asking you, our community, to help us bring this vision to life by contributing even just £1... or whatever you would like. Every pound raised will help us get closer to lighting up the tree once more.

If we’re lucky enough to exceed our goal, we’ll use the additional funds towards other community events and initiatives. We'd really love, for example, to light the three trees on Sheen Lane outside the library, spreading the glow even further afield.
