The Prize

Ladybug, our VW T5.1 Camper van, has been our pride and joy for the last two years. Ladybug is a professionally converted camper van with full furniture inside, kitted out and equipped to go for days without the need for plugging into electrical chargers, using both solar and battery to battery charging, to run the onboard fridge and electronics. 

There are a number of USB charging points to keep those electronic devices charged up too. There is of course the option to plug into electrics, providing 240V inside the van. 

Ladybug has a rock n roll bed conversion, turning the rear seat into a bed, and also a pop top with further space for two upstairs. All cupboards provide ample room to store your belongings. Included is also a storage box seat, for any extras you take with you. 

Cooking facilities are also provided with a dual gas cooker/sink unit, with fresh water being supplied by pump, via a freshwater container.  

Ready for any adventure, this van is comfortable for almost anywhere you want to go, whether it is surfing holidays in Cornwall, hiking adventures in the hills, or even further abroad, travelling Europe and beyond.

FAQs

We get asked a lot of questions regarding this draw, so thought we would address these here, either watch the video below, or if it is too long, we have it all typed out below too.

When is the draw closing date, and when will the draw be?

The draw closing date is 12:00PM on Sunday 1 January 2023 and the draw will take place at 19:00 on the same day.

What is the target?

The target has now been reduced to £18,000. This is the minimum required for the draw to go ahead, it can go beyond that figure, until the closing date. 

What happens if you don’t make your target?

This is a tough one, we want to reach the target, but if we do not reach the target, we have two options, 

• Extend once more, which we don’t want to do, and will put it out to those who have already pledged.
• Stop the draw from happening and refund everyone who has pledged, through the Crowdfunded platform.

Are you profiting from this?

NO. Although there is nothing stopping us from doing so. We are not profiting from this, and have now reduced the target to a point where we are getting less for our van than we originally wanted to get. 

How much money will be going to charity?

This is a bit of a, “how long is a piece of string?”, question. As much as possible. 

This van is ours, and it is not cheap. Which means that we cannot afford to just give it away, as we hope you could appreciate. 

Originally we wanted to get £18 -20,000 for her. We are looking at the lower end of that now, to be inline with market prices.

Taking the cost of the prize into consideration we then have;

• Costs of having the PO Box for free entries - £108
• Advertising costs, ads on Facebook, Twitter, marketing materials, etc. This is going to be close or just over £500
• Crowdfunded platform fees, which could be between 1.8 -5% of the total funds

All of the above will be subtracted and then divided between the two charities we have chosen. If we do not pay platform fees, then that of Course goes into the pot for charity.

Is this legal?

Yes. We have followed all guidance from the Gambling Commission in the UK and the requirements of the Gambling Act 2005, for Prize competitions and free draws. 

What happened to your Facebook ad account?

We occasionally run Facebook ads through our LIFEISFORFAMLY page, and for that, we have an ad account, or shall I say had one. Where we are able to run ads through the Facebook Business manager. We were running a few ads for this draw, which subsequently got rejected for breaking THEIR policies on Gambling, even though ours is legally classed as a Prize draw with a free entry option, they want legal paperwork for us to be able to run paid ads. To do this, we had a solicitor have a look over the draw and said it is OK, but for them to do a full audit and provide us with a legal memo to give to Facebook, would cost us over £1500 and more than two weeks, that we have for the draw. So no paid ads on Facebook, yet we can still post about it.

Why are you doing this and not just selling?

We originally tried to sell the van, and had her up on various sites, but due to the combination of time constraints, the seasonality of camper vans, causing prices to go down and along with that, the cost of living rise recently, it is not helping us trying to sell our van. So, that’s why we decided to try and open up the chance of owning a van to anyone eligible to take part in the draw, and allowing someone who may not have been able to buy a van, win one.

Are you scammers?

NO. We are not, there is enough proof to show that we are real. We are not going to say anymore regarding that.

Why are you doing this through your company?

To somewhat also answer the above. We are directors of our marketing company, so why not make use of that and make it possible for us to account for the costs involved with running this draw through our company. It is done in an auditable manner and if we were doing it personally, we would not be able to do it in the same way.

About us and why we are doing this.

We wanted to make it affordable for anyone to have a chance in owning and enjoying what has brought us so much pleasure over the years. 

We are both British Army veterans, and after leaving the Army, started to pursue our ambitions to move to Australia. COVID put a break to our application, causing our life to be in limbo for the last couple of years. Things are looking brighter now and we should be getting our visas soon. So we will head off as soon as we have been able to give Ladybug a new home.

The Cause

As our name says, life is for family. We want to help contribute to projects who have a direct impact on causes that are close to our hearts. We want to be able to take some of the proceeds and contribute to these. We do not want any money to go straight into a charity's bank account and sit there forever. We want to be making a direct impact, to community causes, where these families or children will benefit from, today. We have had personal contact with the below.

Please note that the lifeisforfamily T5 Camper Van Draw is not a charity raffle, camper van raffle, or camper van lottery but a prize draw. Our online contest to win a VW Camper Van includes a method of entry via post. No purchase is necessary to enter, but the intention of the Camper van draw is that people enter to win a Camper van and support a worthy charitable cause.

General Terms

- This prize draw is organised by LIFEISFORFAMILY, a registered brand of ACCJ Marketing Ltd. After expenses and prize costs, profits will be utilised to support community charities/projects which will be decided upon based on feedback from entrants and further assessment from LIFEISFORFAMILY. 

How to Enter

- ACCJ Marketing Ltd is a registered company in the United Kingdom, registration number: 13038587.

- Entries received after the competition closing date will not be accepted. No liability will be accepted by the promoter for any delays in the postal system.

- The prize draw has a free to enter option, please see details below for further information.

- This is an ALL or NOTHING draw. The main target has to be reached by the closing time for the draw to go ahead. If the target is not reached, all refunds will be given by Crowdfunder UK. 

- ACCJ Marketing Ltd accept NO responsibility for entries that are mislaid, damaged, delayed or lost in transit for any reason, including any postal system failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction or computer, software or network errors.

- ACCJ Marketing Ltd reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

Eligibility

- Our prize draw is open to UK residents over the age of 18 only.

- There is no maximum limit on the number of entries per person.

- By entering, you are confirming you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize if you are successful in winning.

- ACCJ Marketing Ltd reserve the right to disqualify anyone who's conduct is in breach of the spirit of the competition.

The Draw

- A winner will be chosen by Google Random Number Generator from all ticket numbers, on NEW YEAR’S DAY (1 Jan 2023 at 19:00). The random number generator will be set between 0 and the total number of tickets purchased/entered. The draw will be filmed and live streamed on YouTube by LIFEISFORFAMILY and will be available to view without restrictions. It is recommended to follow and turn on notifications on LIFEISFORFAMILY Facebook or Instagram pages to receive updates. Further updates will also be provided via the Crowdfunder UK page.

- The winner will be notified by email (using details provided at entry) within 5 working days of being chosen and must either be able to attend in person to collect or provide an address to claim their prize and have it delivered (within reasonable distance of London). 

- The winner will have 5 working days to claim their prize by response via phone or email. If no response is received, the prize will be forfeited, and ACCJ Marketing Ltd will have the right to draw a new winner following the process outlined above.

- The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and there is no cash alternative on offer.

- Any decisions made by ACCJ Marketing Ltd on any matters relating to the prize draw or competition are final.

- The winner's name and County can be obtained by written request and sending a stamped addressed envelope to ACCJ Marketing Ltd, VW Campervan Prize Draw, PO Box 79666, LONDON, E17 0YS

within 60 days of the prize draw closing. 

– ACCJ Marketing Ltd reserves the right to hold, void, suspend, cancel or amend the prize draw if and where it becomes necessary to do so.

Limitations of liability

– As such is permitted by law, ACCJ Marketing Ltd will not, in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by negligence of ACCJ Marketing Ltd. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Governing Law

– All Prize Draws and competitions will be governed by English law and entrants to the draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English Courts.

– ACCJ Marketing Ltd reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions from time to time and any updated version will be effective as soon as it is published on the website.

All postal entries must each be sent on an unenclosed stamped postcard and have clear and legible writing. If your entry is not clear and fully legible we will be unable to enter all of your details into our system and the entry will become void. 

Entries must be received by the Promoter prior to the Closing Date. 

Once we receive your details we will process them onto our system before the competition closing date, no confirmation or notification will be sent for postal entries.
