We aim to raise funds for a zero waste plantbased shop in East London to sell our own branded product range and other premium vegan products
Hi!
Farmer Femi is the name and farming is the game: I’m a graduate of Writtle Agricultural College, where I studied Agricultural Business Management and specialised in organic farming. That’s where I fell in love with nature and farming!
Aim of our project
We’re fundraising for a zero-waste plant based community shop in East London to sell our own branded products and other premium vegan products.
My story
I’m a farmer from Brixton with a passion for organic farming, zero-waste living and community work. I’m the Founder and Director of Life of a Tree – a brand that connects customers back to nature by providing natural herbal products which are Vegan, Raw and Ethical.
I recently found a shop in East London that I want to set up as a plant based shop that’s zero waste and accessible to the community. This shop will help us grow our enterprise and provide job opportunities for local young people. It will help our customers learn about our production process and offer amazing coffees, smoothies and juices all pressed in-house. And it will house a small Kombucha brewery and oil extraction machine for pressing black and sesame seed oil for customers.
With your help, we’ll be able to rent out and transform this former supermarket in East London into a community-friendly plant based supermarket. Once we’re set up, we'll be making regular charitable donations to responsible environmental causes, donating surplus fresh produce to food distribution schemes like Brixton Soup Kitchen, and be able to make a real difference to our local area and the wider world!

I grew up in Brixton, and like most people from the capital I felt a massive disconnect when it came to nature and food – but that didn’t stop me from studying agricultural business management in Essex.
I later landed my dream job working for a tractor manufacturer as a precision farming specialist, and soon after my entrepreneurial bone kicked in. I decided to take all this new-found farming experience and focus more on labour-intensive farming, rather than machine-intensive farming. In 2017, I flew to my birth country, Nigeria, where I made connections with other farmers and started my first Moringa farm. Later that year I founded my company, Farmer Fem Limited!
Through my work with the community, I realised many others have that same disconnect from nature. So, when I set up my company, I decided to employ local people to help package our products, empowering them to learn about nature and entrepreneurialism through my journey.
All our products are vegan, and we have a ‘cruelty free forever’ ethos. They are grown and harvested in-house to high standards, and no additives or preservatives are used. Our newest delicious product is our caffeine-free Moringa Kombucha – we can’t wait for you to try it!
Check out the rewards listed – I’d love to treat you for your pledge!
