Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach our £7,000 target which will bring books and stories to life for children with additional needs. We've been overwhelmed with the generosity of our friends and supporters who will make Life-changing Stories a reality.
Because of this success we are stretching our target to £7,500. This extra £500 will allow us to introduce early evening openings for visitors on the Autism spectrum and their families. We know that queues and hustle and bustle can be overwhelming for many families and opening our building outside of normal visiting hours can provide a stress free visit to all our interactive exhibitions. It costs just £100 to open our building in the evening for 1 hour and provide plenty of skilled staff to help with anything families may need.
Thank you for your support.
“Because everyone is part of our story”
Stories help children understand the world around them, increase confidence and build positive family bonds through sharing fun memories together. At Seven Stories, we believe every child regardless of age, gender, background and ability should enjoy these experiences. We need your help to reach more children like Jessica (pictured below) take part in creative sessions, theatre experiences and inclusive story times designed specifically for children with a range of sensory and additional needs.
We want to welcome all our families to take part in events that delight, inspire and excite them however they experience the world.
Can you help us ensure every child is part of our story?
Our work does make an incredible difference... "Amazing performance at Seven Stories today! The boys were enthralled from the beginning and thank you for making my autistic son feel comfortable and welcome to ease his anxiety, I've never seen him so excited and involved in a performance before" (Sophia)
But we need to do more to ensure we are reaching more children with additional needs and their families.
This year, we need your help to raise £7,000 to provide new creative sessions, relaxed story times and performances with plenty of sensory resources and accessible props to spark imagination and give a magical inclusive Seven Stories experience all year round.
We are eligible for a 50% match from the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear, but in order to acquire this funding we must secure £3,500 from our supporters and the public.
We need your help to make this happen!
