Help us raise the match funding to take this exciting production on a national tour in 2026!
In early 2023 Director Roisin McCay-Hines received a bursary award from Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory which seed funded her to make a new piece of work in Bristol, with collaborators she had met whilst training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She had already been working with writer Eva Hudson to develop a new play inspired by their shared experience of medical misogyny.
After collaborating with actors, stage managers and designers who had also trained at BOVTS, the first development period began, culminating in a sold-out 2-night work-in-progress run at the Alma Theatre. From this, the production received exciting programming interest from a range of theatres, and thus we have embarked on fleshing out this UK tour, with a freshly developed script.
We all know that the arts are under an immense amount of pressure, and it is harder than ever to get grass-roots projects off the ground. We are in an incredibly fortunate position to have secured the funding we need for the tour, on the condition of securing £1000 match funding.
We are excited to be partnering with the Menopause Charity on this project, who have been incredibly helpful in the research around some of the play's key themes, and whose messaging we are proud to be championing.
Whatever you are able to give will go a long way to helping us bring this production to life. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Roisin, Eva and the LBY team.
