Emerging out of COVID-19, we want to setup an object lending library for the Wood Street area, allowing sharing of tools & equipment
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen the area we live in and love change dramatically, with over 150 independent shops on our street temporarily close and the local economy massively impacted and outside space for small businesses to operate extremely challenging.
Wood Street Walls are now crowdfunding for a library of things in Wood Street to help provide open access to tools for promoting repairing, reusing and remaking.
Since forming over five years ago, we have achieved a number of goals we set out to do, such as:
We now want to continue using creativity to bring the community together by establishing a Library of Things/Object lending library to make the using of tools affordable and sustainable without the need to buy outright. With this project, we aim to:
We believe this project is important for the area and from the membership fee, we aim to reinvest the funds back into the project and to maintain and sustain the community garden connected to Wood Street Studios.
