Aim
We envision a Wymondham where residents borrow what they need, save money, cut waste, and build a stronger community together.
Hi there my name Emma and I live in Wymondham. I’m looking to setup a local community project called Library Of Things Wymondham. A Library Of Things is a community resource where people can borrow useful items like tools, kitchen appliances, and recreational gear, instead of buying them, to save money, reduce clutter, and promote sustainability by sharing resources. It operates like a traditional library but lends physical objects, from drills and sewing machines to camping equipment, for short-term use, encouraging a circular economy and skill-sharing. There are many Library Of Things across the UK.
Our vision is a Wymondham where people can borrow what they need, when they need it saving money, reducing waste, and building a stronger sense of community. By sharing tools, equipment, and everyday items, we can make access more affordable while cutting down on unnecessary consumption.
The money we raise will help us turn that vision into reality. We’ll use it to buy promotional materials such as posters, leaflets, and banners, which will be used locally and at community events to raise awareness, attract members, and build support.
And also help us secure and equip a suitable storage space, purchase high-quality items for the Library of Things, and put systems in place to manage bookings and memberships smoothly. In addition, it will contribute towards essential costs such as insurance, maintenance, and safety checks, ensuring the project runs safely, sustainably, and for the long term.
